ORC Fall 2020: Girl’s Boho Bedroom Reveal
I wrapped up our Boho Girl’s Bedroom for the One Room Challenge a while back and it’s about time I share the final reveal here. Our little one loves her bright, flower-filled room! Scroll along for details and sources.
DIY Headboard
Let’s start with this DIY headboard. In my last update I shared that I was painting lots and lots of wood ball halves to create the DIY Jenny Lind bed vibe with a boho flair. I attached them to the painted plywood backing with Gorilla Glue and added the natural reed pieces to add the dainty arcs in between.
To secure the headboard to the wall, I used my favorite trick for hanging large items: a french cleat. It’s super easy to install and this particular one can hold 150 lbs!
Boho Swing Chair & Flower Wall
This sweet little corner might be my favorite part of the room. I pivoted from my original plans and swapped the hammock swing for this boho hanging chair. (Our wild little ones were bumping the wall with the hammock’s bar so this was a better option for a corner.)
I used glass beaker wall vases to hang dried wildflowers we picked from our land and these glass hanging vases to propagate clippings from our pothos. I love that the flowers look like they’re floating!
I also added a cute yellow storage ottoman for blankets, toys and books. It holds a surprising amount and is great for quick clean-up!
RBG Art Print
A friend gifted this awesome Nashid Chroma RBG floral art print. I paired it with a photo of our daughter with wildflowers on our land. I’m thinking I might build upon this theme and create a gallery wall over time.
I also plan to add wallpaper on the ceiling or as an accent wall some day. Spaces are always evolving!
